Getting Started With Octacer
How an Octacer engagement starts: a short call, terms agreed in writing before paid work, work done in your own accounts, and cover after go-live.
Getting started with Octacer
Octacer is a software engineering and automation services company based in Lahore, Pakistan. We are not a software platform: there is no account to sign up for, no workspace and no subscription plan. We add engineers to your team, or we take responsibility for one defined piece of work, such as a workflow automation, a repair or a first product release, inside your own tools and accounts.
Choose a way to start
There are four ways to work with us. Each has its own steps and published terms.
| What you need | Start with | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Engineers who join your team and work through your backlog | Engineering Capacity | From $1,900/month per engineer, first week free |
| One repetitive workflow automated | Automation Sprint | Fixed price from $750 |
| A broken n8n, Make or Zapier workflow fixed | System Rescue | $249 Quick Fix, or you don't pay. Multi-system problems start with a $199 diagnostic, credited to the repair |
| A first product release scoped, built and launched | MVP Build | Fixed quote after a free scoping call. A $500 Scope Sprint, credited in full, when deeper scoping is needed |
Step 1: Tell us what is holding the work up
The first call depends on the offer:
- Engineering Capacity: a 30-minute backlog call about your backlog, stack and hours. We check that there is ongoing work, that the rate fits, and that someone on your side can review the engineer.
- Automation Sprint: a 30-minute scoping call. We tell you whether a sprint fits, which price tier it is in, and what access we will need.
- System Rescue: a free 20-minute triage call about what is failing, since when, and which tools are involved.
- MVP Build: a free 30-minute scoping call about your users, the core journey, your budget and your launch date.
Step 2: Agree it in writing
- Engineering Capacity: you meet the proposed engineer first, and their skills, hours and responsibilities are confirmed in writing. They then work a free trial week: 5 working days on a real task from your backlog. Paid work starts only when you approve it in writing. After that it is billed monthly, first month in advance, with 14 days' notice.
- Automation Sprint: a written scope, a fixed price and the acceptance checklist the workflow must pass. You pay 50% to start and 50% when you sign off against that checklist.
- System Rescue: we confirm in writing whether the failure qualifies as a $249 Quick Fix. The fee is due only when the agreed failing case runs correctly.
- MVP Build: a written scope and a fixed quote, paid in three stages. 40% is due when the scope is approved, 30% when the core journey is shown working on staging, and 30% after production deployment and handover.
Step 3: Set up access in your accounts
Tool subscriptions, AI usage and hosting are billed to your own accounts by each vendor. For an Automation Sprint there is no markup from us, and we tell you the expected running costs during scoping.
Step 4: Delivery and sign-off
While the work takes shape, you get progress updates or demos through an agreed channel. The work is tested against what was agreed: the trial task, the acceptance checklist or the written acceptance criteria.
| Octacer owns | You own |
|---|---|
| Engineering and delivery against the agreed task or written scope | Access to the repo, accounts and systems involved |
| Testing against the agreed checklist or acceptance criteria | Someone who can review the work and make decisions |
| Progress updates and demos while the work takes shape | Business rules, edge cases and sign-off |
| Fixes after go-live, as each offer states | Your code, accounts and systems, before and after |
Step 5: Handover and cover after go-live
You get a walkthrough of how the work runs and how to change it. Each offer states its own cover:
- Automation Sprint: 14 days of defect fixes on the Starter tier. Production and Complex tiers include two weeks of watching live runs.
- System Rescue: a 14-day warranty on a Quick Fix and 30 days on a quoted repair. An optional Care plan, from $299/month, monitors the covered workflows afterwards.
- MVP Build: 30 days of defect fixes after launch.
- Engineering Capacity: the engineer who passes the trial stays on your work. If the match is not right, we introduce a replacement first and hand over the work.
Working hours
Our delivery team is in Lahore, Pakistan, and joins your tools remotely: your Slack or Teams, your repository and your tracker. Working-hour overlap is agreed in writing before we start; we work agreed hours, not round-the-clock on-call.
